In this fast paced society we are being bombarded daily with stressors via news, work and often in our inability to slow ourselves down. This is when it is most important for us to have a toolbox full of ways to destress. Self Care can be as simple as drinking enough water in the day or having time to read a book before getting to a PTA meeting. Self Care is also meditation, physical activity, sacred bathing, eating a healthy diet that we enjoy, changing our thought processes so that they serve us better.
I have compiled a group of activities and conversations for us to have based on both inner and outer self care. You need a balance of each for a healthy body. All of these are practices I have done at some point over the last 25 years. With the world becoming even more stressful of late I thought it was time to get my own toolbox organized and in a place that I could reference. This course is for me as much as it is for you.
Plant lover at heart! All of my career choices and hobbies are based in the garden and forest. I've worked as a chef and have been a restaurant owner for over 20 years, a folk herbalist for even longer. I've owned a yarn company that specialized in naturally dyed fibers. I've been a shepherd to goats, rabbits and chickens. I truly have an avid curiosity about the usefulness of the plants surrounding me and love the feeling of connection that is possible.
